Read The Ledger story on Roni Gamble

Synopsis:

On June 9, 1984, the body of Mary Veronica “Roni” Gamble was found partially clothed lying face down on the shore of Lake Lena in Auburndale.  She had been severely beaten and dragged to the lake, where she drowned.

She was last seen alive at about 12:15am that morning, when a Police Officer, passing by, saw her peering from the window of her mobile home.

Gamble’s husband said he came home late from work, about 3:30am, and found his wife missing.  He said he called relatives and drove around Auburndale looking for Roni, then returned home to find police there to tell him of  the death
